Description
Mega Star — Solvent Blend for Tar, Glue and Bitumen Removal
Product overview
Mega Star is a high‑strength solvent formulation engineered to dissolve and remove persistent hydrocarbons such as tar, adhesive residues, bitumen and road film. The product’s solvency profile is optimised for rapid breakdown of polymeric and hydrocarbon soils while remaining safe for use on non‑porous substrates including glass and most metals when used as directed. Mega Star facilitates fast, low‑effort removal of stubborn contaminants without aggressive mechanical abrasion.
Key benefits
– Rapid solvency for tar, glue, bitumen and hardened road deposits
– Safe for glass and metal surfaces when applied correctly
– Minimises scrubbing and abrasive contact, protecting underlying substrates
– Effective as a pre‑wash remediation step prior to full detailing or refinishing
Recommended procedure
1. Preparation: Remove loose debris and particulate contamination by rinsing or light brushing. Work in a well‑ventilated, shaded area and avoid applying to hot panels or direct sunlight to reduce evaporation and streaking.
2. Application: Apply Mega Star directly to the affected area — either by spray (if fitted) or by dampening a clean microfibre cloth or applicator. Allow the solvent to dwell briefly to soften and dissolve the contaminant. Do not allow the product to dry on the surface.
3. Removal: Once the contaminant has softened or dissolved, wipe away the residue using a clean microfibre cloth. Repeat application and gentle agitation with a cloth or plastic scraper for heavily soiled areas until the surface is clean.
4. Final rinse/clean: After removal, wash the treated area with soap and water or a pH‑balanced cleanser to remove residual solvent and prepare the surface for any subsequent protection (sealant, wax or coating).
Precautions and compatibility
– Always perform a spot test in an inconspicuous area to confirm substrate compatibility, particularly on painted, coated, anodised or lacquered finishes and plastics.
– Avoid use on soft plastics, some painted plastics, rubber trim and sensitive coatings unless tested first.
– Do not use on hot surfaces or in direct sunlight. Prolonged contact or allowing the product to dry may affect finishes.
– Use personal protective equipment (gloves and eye protection) and ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from ignition sources; follow flammability precautions on the Safety Data Sheet.
Storage and handling
– Store in a cool, well‑ventilated place away from heat and open flame. Keep container tightly closed when not in use. Dispose of rags and wipes used with solvents in accordance with local regulations.
